This month we take a trip back to early days of house music. Things kick off with burst of the short lived Hip House courtesy of Fast Eddie before heading deep into the UK breakbeat scene with SL2, Kaotic Chemistry and Nexus 21. As the rules of house music are declared we put four to the floor and speed off with several classics before wrapping up with one of the finest house cuts of all time by Choice (aka Laurent Garnier). Break out the Vicks Vapor and rave on.

Kicking off with the distorted sounds of Mika Vainio, Episode 19 goes deep and moody. Tracks by El Michels Affair and Alan Tew will keep your head nodding just long enough before the mix moves on into a selection of sombre soundtracks and strings. Brian Bennett brings more tension to the table before we revisit a 90s classic from the Dust Brothers and roll out with a live piece from fellow Beastie Boy collaborator, Money Mark.

Traversing the depths of synth space and VHS tracking errors, Episode 17 gathers music from all sides. Starting with new Stones Throw artist Jonti we head down a path of abstractness stopping to pick up Pye Corner Audio and Hintermass along the way. Track of the mix however comes from Umberto who builds the deepest horror funk this side of 1985.

Episode 03 opens with a electronic live jazz epic from Herbie Hancock and descends into further retro futurisms with Bruce Haack & Plone. A rare instrumental from A Tribe Called Quest eases the show into a spot of Shoe Gazing before closing with some strange sample sonics from Jonny Trunk.

An eclectic mixture of ambient, beats and hauntings. Features new tracks by Bibio & Mane Mane whilst also digging up an old track from Ticklah and the B-Boy Bollywood funk of Salma Agha. And—for your safety—how to be careful when riding escalators. Stay safe.
